Ignition decides the install.
Both light the same burner. One needs an electrician and one does not.
- Manual
Push button, no mains supply
Lit by a push-button sparker at the burner, powered by a single battery β so there is no outlet to run and no electrician. Flame sensing shuts the gas off if the flame goes out. Ships configured for propane with a natural-gas conversion kit in the carton.
- Electronic
Push button, and a remote
Direct spark ignition with a control box and a remote. It needs a 120V supply at the burner, grounded to local code, which means the electrician and the gas fitter are quoting the same job.
What else fits each burner.
Burner covers and wind guards are sized to the burner opening, so choosing the burner also decides which of those will fit later.

The questions we actually get.
What does my installer need to know?
The rated output, so they can size the gas line, and the fuel type. Both are on each product page.
For electronic ignition, they also need to know a 120V supply is required at the burner and must be grounded in accordance with local codes.
Can I convert between propane and natural gas?
On several of these, yes β the manual-ignition burners ship configured for propane with a natural-gas conversion kit in the carton.
It is not universal across the range, so check the product page for the specific burner rather than assuming.
Do I need fire media as well?
Yes. The burner is a pan with jets in it β media is what hides the hardware and spreads the gas into a flame pattern. It is ordered separately for these.
Cover the burner by no more than an inch, and on raised-jet burners leave the jets exposed.
Building something custom?
Tell us the opening you have and the fuel available, and we will tell you which burner suits it and what your installer will need to know.
