HPC Fire Inspired

Built in Ohio, and documented.

HPC has built hearth products in Miamisburg, Ohio since 1975, and outdoor fire products since 2003. In March 2025 it bought Dekko outright, so the cast concrete line and the steel and copper now come from one company.

Choosing

The line splits on material first.

Everything else β€” size, burner, ignition, fuel β€” is available on both sides. Material is the decision that is hard to reverse.

  • Concrete

    Reads as built, not placed

Cast lightweight concrete by Dekko. Six finishes and three decorative aggregates, so it is specified rather than picked off a shelf. Sits beside stone and rendered walls without arguing with them.

  • Steel

    One clean object

The Agni and Tejas are powder-coated steel with no cladding and no attempt to look like masonry. Lighter than they look, and they suit a finished terrace where a faux-stone surround would fight the paving.

  • Copper

    The one that changes

Hammered and smooth copper bowls β€” Mesa, Sedona, Sierra, Tempe. Sculptural rather than architectural, and the finish moves over time rather than staying put.

Before you order

The questions we actually get.

Is Dekko the same company as HPC?

Yes. HPC acquired Dekko outright in March 2025.

It matters because the concrete line's specifications and warranty are still published by Dekko rather than by HPC, and we cite whichever document actually covers the model.

Do I need an installer?

The gas connection is a licensed installer's job rather than a weekend one. Your installer will want the model's rated output to size the gas line, which is published on every product page here.

Electronic ignition models also need a 120V outdoor receptacle at the pit, grounded to local code β€” worth quoting both together.

What is the difference between the Penta and Torpedo burners?

They are not alternatives β€” they combine. Penta is the burner's shape: a five-spoke stainless assembly that gathers the flame toward the centre. Torpedo describes the nozzles fitted to it in place of plain drilled ports, for a taller and more forceful flame.

So a Torpedo Penta is one burner with both, and it carries the higher of the two rated outputs β€” on the Agni 48, 140,000 BTU against 125,000. Not every enclosure uses a Penta at all: the rectangular Tejas runs an H-burner instead. The rated output for each configuration is on its own product page.

How does it arrive, and what do I do on the day?

Freight, kerbside, on a lift-gate truck. The carrier calls to arrange a window and someone needs to be there to receive and sign.

Inspect the crate before you sign. Photograph anything that looks wrong and note it on the delivery receipt β€” then call us before the driver leaves. On some of these lines the manufacturer wants visibly damaged freight refused rather than accepted, so the right answer depends on the model and we would rather give it to you on the phone than in a paragraph.

Do not leave it. Dekko's published warranty allows 24 hours from delivery to report shipping damage on the concrete range, so call us the same day and we will start the report with you.

Want the spec sheet before you decide?

Ask and we will send the manufacturer's own document for the model you are looking at, rather than our summary of it.
