Traditional steam saunas heat the air around you to 150–195°F, which heats your body indirectly. Full-spectrum infrared heats your body directly at 110–140°F, penetrating tissue 3–4 centimeters deeper. This means more therapeutic benefit at a more comfortable temperature — you sweat as much or more than in a steam sauna, but without the oppressive heat that many people find difficult to tolerate.
