- It looks unfinished
Fire media
Media hides the burner and pan and spreads the gas into a natural flame pattern. Without it you are looking at a steel pan with jets in it.
- It blows out
Wind guards
Tempered glass panels that sit around the burner. They keep the flame steady on an exposed terrace and reflect it, which is the reason most people end up buying one.
- It got wet
Covers
Rain and condensation are what damage a fire pit over winter — trapped water turns to steam and can make lava rock burst. A fitted cover is the cheapest protection there is.

Burners
A burner and pan you drop into your own surround, with manual push-button or electronic ignition. Your installer will want the rated output to size the gas line.
The questions we actually get.
How do I know what fits my fire pit?
Wind guards and burner covers are sized to the burner opening, not to the outside of the table — a 24-inch square burner takes a 24-inch square guard even though the table around it is much bigger.
Weather covers are the opposite: they are sized to the table, and ours name the table they fit in the product title.
If you are unsure, tell us the model and we will confirm before you order.
Can I use rocks from my garden?
No, and this one matters. Ordinary stones and river rocks hold moisture inside them. Heat that trapped water and it turns to steam with nowhere to go, which can make the stone burst.
Only use media rated for fire pits — tempered fire glass or lava rock.
Do these fit other brands?
Often, but it depends on the dimension rather than the badge. Because guards and burner covers are matched to the burner opening, what matters is the shape and the size in inches.
